OSUSBC Wraps Up Historic Open And Woman's Championship's

Bend and Medford, Ore — The Oregon State USBC wrapped up its 2025 championship season with thrilling finishes, record-breaking performances, and historic firsts at two of the state’s premier bowling centers. The Open Championship was held at Lava Lanes in Bend, while the Women’s Championship took place at Lava Lanes in Medford.

 

Jamie Koster Makes OSUSBC History

 

One of the most groundbreaking moments in OSUSBC history came from Jamie Koster, who became the first woman ever to win a Division 1 Individual title in the Open Championship. Koster captured both the Division 1 Singles crown with a 783 series, and the All-Events title with a 2241 total.
Division 1 was introduced in 1968, making Koster’s achievement a historic milestone more than five decades in the making.

 

Steeves Mobile City III Sets New State Team Record

 

In team play, Steeves Mobile City III delivered a dominant performance and broke the all-time OSUSBC Open Team State Record with a score of 3582, taking home the Division 1 Team Championship.

The Open Championship in Bend featured packed weekends of competition, high-scoring performances, and spirited play across all divisions.

 

Grants Patsy Wins Women’s Team Title

 

At the Women’s Championship in Medford, the team of Grants Patsy took home the Top Division Team Title with a final score of 2786, capping a competitive field of bowlers from across Oregon.

Other top women’s division winners included:

  • Justine Tipton-Kemper – Division 1 Singles Champion (740 series)
     
  • Heather Laughlin – Division 1 All-Events Champion (2195 total)
